About

Hi, I’m Lauren Eliza — welcome to Lauren Eliza Eats !

This blog is where I share my love for creating recipes that are full of flavor and creativity to make on all occasions. I fell in love with cooking because it feels exciting, comforting, and nourishing all at once. And I believe everyone should experience that feeling, from those who find comfort in the kitchen to those who don’t know the difference between a pot and a skillet. Everyone should find joy in creating a plate that feeds your body and brings happiness.

My Culinary Background

My love for food started young; I always knew I wanted a career in the culinary world. In fact, it was the movie Ratatouille that sealed the deal for me as a little girl and made me dream of becoming a chef. As I grew up, that love only expanded. It was more than the pleasure of eating, traveling, and ordering an exotic dish at a restaurant, but also experimenting in the kitchen and discovering my own style and taste.

I was fortunate to attend the Culinary Institute of America, where I earned my Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts in 2021. Since then, I’ve continued to grow my experience working in restaurants and catering. Now, my journey has brought me here: a space to keep exploring my passion for cooking and to share it with you along the way.

And if you’re wondering what my specialty dish is—I don’t really have one! I rarely repeat dishes, because I’m always creating something new or putting my own spin on a previous inspiration.

What is Lauren Eliza Eats?

Here, you’ll find recipes of classics with a twist, playful sweet treats, seasonal dishes using fresh produce, plant-based meals, and favorite store buys that can be made fresh at home. I started this blog because I love using food as a way to connect with family, friends, community, and with God. Cooking is not just about what’s on the plate, but also about the joy, intention, and gratitude we bring into the kitchen. That’s why you’ll see scripture woven into each recipe. These are reminders to keep God close in all things and to rest in His word. My hope is that each recipe will help you to find peace, love, and joy in Him through the act of cooking.

My style is all about:

  • Creative twists on classics
  • Seasonal produce (especially the fresh finds from the farmers market)
  • Whole foods & cleaner ingredients (I love using coconut sugar instead of granulated and less processed food alternatives)
  • Balanced indulgence (because I’m still a sucker for a gooey cookie, a buttery biscuit, or a decadent sauce!)

Maybe you’re here for breakfast inspiration, a cozy comfort food, or a dessert that makes your mouth water. Whatever reason you’re here, my hope is that you’ll find recipes that are easy to follow, spark your creativity, and make you do a happy dance from the first bite. Stay for a plate and cook along with me. I can’t wait to share these recipes with you!

With love,
