“Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly — not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.”
1 Peter 5:2 NLT
Ooey, gooey, sweet homemade cinnamon rolls with an easy yeast dough filled with vanilla bean paste cinnamon spread. This is a classic cinnamon roll with an upgrade using vanilla bean paste. I love the extra oomph the vanilla bean paste brings to these cinnamon rolls and cream cheese frosting. Be careful because you might never make cinnamon rolls the regular way again!

A soft, fluffy, vanilla bean paste cinnamon roll recipe with warm cinnamon sugar swirls. Topped with a vanilla bean speckled cream cheesed frosting.
Ingredients
Method
- Warm the milk or non-dairy milk in sauce pan or microwave until 100-110℉.
- Stir in coconut sugar and sprinkle yeast on the top. Fold yeast ONCE in liquid and leave untouched for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk the milk/yeast mixture with the egg, egg yolk, melted butter, and vanilla bean paste.
- Add flour and salt, mixing to form a dough. Knead by hand on clean surface or in a mixer for 8–10 minutes, until smooth and slightly sticky.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover in plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm spot for 1–1½ hours or until doubled in size.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and roll dough into a 14 inch x 9 inch rectangle.
- Mix softened butter, cinnamon, coconut sugar, and vanilla bean paste until combined. Spread filling evenly over dough and sprinkle extra cinnamon and coconut sugar.
- Roll dough, and cut evenly into 8 pieces. Place rolls in greased baking ids, cover in plastic, and leave in warm area for 35 minutes.
- Pre-heat oven to 350℉ and remove plastic wrap from cinnamon rolls. Bake cinnamon rolls for 25 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
- For vanilla bean cream cheese frosting, whip softened cream cheese and softened butter in an electric mixer. Mix for a couple minutes and add in the remaining frosting ingredients, except milk. If you choose to add milk to think out consistency, add 1 Tbsp at a time.
- Frost cream cheese frosting over vanilla bean cinnamon rolls and serve warm.
