“Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.”
Matthew 6:9-13 NLT
These Greek Chicken Gyros with Homemade Tzatziki bring out the beautiful, irresistible flavors of the Mediterranean. Marinate your chicken thighs in a blend of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, lemon, garlic, and herbs. This creates an incredibly juicy and flavorful meat that will go great with the gyro toppings. Sear the chicken or grill it, slice it, and you will see the juices flowing!
I serve these in warm pitas and topped with crisp shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onions, as many French fries as I can fit! (Yes, French fries make the chicken gyro 10x better) Every gyro bite will burst with freshness. Now, I haven’t forgotten the homemade tzatziki sauce. Made with thick Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, fresh dill, and lemon juice, and more olive oil. This sauce ties the gyro all together with a creamy, tangy finish that tastes like a trip back to the Greek islands.
